Hippocrates said "The body's natural tendency is that toward Health" IF allowed the proper environment.
Unfortunately, in today's Western world we have the tendency to drive ourselves in the opposite direction and into a state of disease, disability, and general unhealthiness.
  • The World Health Organization (WHO) has called stress the "health epidemic of the 21st century". For businesses, there is a threat of engagement, productivity, retention, and looming health care cost; estimated cost to American businesses is up to $300 billion yearly.
  • Eighty percent of workers feel stress on the job, nearly half say they need help managing it; 42% say their coworkers need help (AIS, American Institute of Stress).
  • Stress is a top health concern for US teens grades 9-12 (APA, American Psychological Association).

As yoga instructors, we are situated to help with this problem in several ways.
Firstly, we are able to teach stress reduction techniques like mindfulness and meditation. These techniques are proven to decrease ansiety and stress, increasing focus and resiliency.

Secondly, we can offer non-medical yet evidence-based strategies and remedies that complement and individual's health care plan.

Thirdly, we can assist individuals and businesses by implementing programs before medical intervention is necessitated and prior to diminished productivity.
