Does pain or restricted movement keep you from living the life you desire?

In training, my goal is to work posture first.  Once aligned, we can help find your motivation to stay there and relearn new efficient patterns of movement and sport skills.

I take a similar approach to body work.  The common factor in sports injuries, overuse, trauma, and tension from everyday stress is discomfort and PAIN!  Think about what happens to your body when you are in pain.  Some muscles compensate, or work harder than they are supposed to.  Other muscles spasm to help "splint" to keep the injured body part from moving.  Some movements are so painful that those muscles simply shut down.  When these things happen you start walking funny, hold your head in a different position, acquire odd looking postures, or just sit in a chair until it goes away. 

My goal is to find your body's "bad habits" and "reprogram" you.  Together we stimulate what needs to work, and calm down the things that have been working too hard.  Think about it this way:  anyone can get you stretched out, relaxed, and comfortable on a massage table.  Is that going to do you any good when you get up and walk?  Run or ride your bike?  The goal is to get rid of those faulty patterns and quickly help your body establish new ones that are healthier and more functional.

Part of my goal is to teach you how to maintain what we've done together.  Stretching, strengthening, and focus is all part of your "homework".  The more you participate in this part of the program, the more quickly your body adapts.  That means less time with me and more time doing what you really like to do!

I see clients at YOGANI Studios in South Tampa.  Special arrangements can be made to accommodate your race, event, travel, or home health care needs.
